Post What would your dream robot do???

Here's a question that's been on my mind for a while: if you were to go out and want to get a robot, what would you want it to be able to do?

For instance, personally I would want my robot to have an interactive screen. It would have to have some sort of lcd display that could relay information to me, and I should be able to use it to navigate its menu or options.

Second, it should have some sort of method of 'pluggin in' to a computer terminal (somewhat like R2D2 can!). Therefore, I would want it to have an extendable usb jack. Preferably, it would have its cord built in, so that there would be no need to go in search of a cord. But it should also remain fairly unobtrusive (needs to be light-duty).

How about you? If you had a say into what would be built into a robot, what would you push into the design? Be creative and run with your imagination, because the more you can imagine, the more we can create!

Thats a very good question. My robot would have to be something people can look at, something that people won't run from just at first look (this means the tazer has to be hidden! ). Something that will make my life easier not by doing things i can do but doing things I can't do like do like translate languages. And i would want a robot that is strong enough and fast enough to carry me places at a reasonable speed. (saying good bye to mopeds and bikes )

Not to steal cakeeater's idea or anything, As I see it: you buy something incredibly expensive that you really want and like, it goes about its business as usual and next thing you know its swiped and someone else has it.

So, if I had a robot that i bought, I would want to be sure I could let it out of the house to mow my lawn without worrying anyone would steal it if I look away for even a second. There has got to be some sort of theft-prevention would be my top priority. As you can guess, I had a Robomow that was stolen from my backyard while it was 'on duty'

Mine would be able to drive my car, would look like me, and be able to do all the things that i don't want to. Like going to work for me, or jury duty, you get the picture right?

it would have to have an extendable limb such as a hand that can actually do stuff. like pick up things off the floor, carry me my phone, keys and wallet, and also be able to hand me a beer when convenient.
